Frequently Asked Questions

What does a naturopath do in your clinic?

My approach focuses on identifying the metabolic, hormonal, digestive, and inflammatory drivers behind symptoms rather than treating symptoms in isolation.

I use evidence-informed naturopathic care including nutrition, lifestyle therapy, Western herbal medicine, and targeted supplementation to support the body’s ability to restore balance and function properly.

Many clients come after trying multiple approaches without lasting results, and we work step-by-step to understand what is actually driving the problem.

What conditions do you commonly work with?

I most often support clients with concerns related to metabolism, gut health, hormones, inflammation, and stress physiology.

This includes fatigue, digestive symptoms, skin conditions, hormonal changes, fertility concerns, immune reactions, cardiovascular risk factors, weight changes, and chronic or complex health issues affecting more than one system.

Treatment plans are personalised based on your history, lifestyle, and current physiology.

What happens in an initial consultation?

The initial consultation includes a detailed review of your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, stress load, medications, supplements, and goals.

From this, I develop a structured treatment plan using the hierarchy of health so we address the most important drivers first rather than guessing or treating symptoms randomly.

Recommendations may include nutrition changes, lifestyle adjustments, herbal medicine, and targeted supplementation when appropriate.

Why is the initial consultation more expensive?

The initial consultation includes more than the time spent together in session.

It involves pre-appointment form review, a full clinical consultation, post-consult case analysis, treatment planning, and writing prescriptions and notes.

In total, an initial case usually represents around three hours of professional time, which is why the fee is higher than a standard appointment.

How long are appointments?

  • Initial consultations are 90 minutes.
    Follow-up consultations are 45 minutes.

  • Discovery calls are 15 minutes

  • Acute consultations are 15 minutes

How long does a follow-up consultation take overall?

Although shorter in session time, follow-ups also include case review, treatment adjustments, prescriptions, and documentation.

Each follow-up usually represents around 60–90 minutes of professional time behind the scenes.

How many consultations will I need?

Most people begin with an initial consultation followed by a review within a few weeks.

If progress is on track, follow-ups are usually monthly at first, then spaced further apart as health becomes more stable.

Many clients move to quarterly reviews once symptoms are under control. The goal is to restore stability, not create ongoing treatment forever.

How do I know if this approach is right for me?

This approach works best for people who want to understand the underlying causes of their symptoms and are willing to make gradual, realistic changes.

It is particularly helpful for long-term symptoms, hormonal or metabolic issues, digestive problems, fatigue, immune reactions, and complex health concerns.

If you are unsure, a discovery call can help decide whether this type of care is suitable before booking an initial consultation.

Do you offer in-person consultations?

No. All consultations are provided online via telehealth.

Why do you only offer telehealth?

Naturopathic care focuses on case history, clinical reasoning, and treatment planning. Telehealth reduces practice overheads, allows flexible, accessible care without reducing the depth or quality of the consultation and supports lower consultation charges, plus, many clients prefer the convenience.

Do I need testing before my appointment?

No. Testing is not required before your first consultation.

If testing would be helpful, this will be discussed during your appointment and chosen based on your individual case.

Will I need supplements or herbal medicine?

Not always.

Supplements and herbs are recommended only when clinically appropriate and are selected for quality, safety, and relevance to your specific case.

Diet, lifestyle, stress load, sleep, and metabolism are always considered first.

Can supplements interact with medications?

Yes. Some supplements and herbs can affect medication absorption, metabolism, or effectiveness.

Checking for interactions is a standard part of my consultation process, which is why personalised advice cannot be given without a full assessment.

Should I try supplements first or book a consultation?

General supplements may help some people, but when symptoms are persistent or complex, results are usually better when treatment is personalised.

A consultation allows supplements, diet, and lifestyle strategies to be matched to your health history, medications, and current physiology.

Can I purchase supplements from the online store?

Yes. The online store contains publicly available supplements selected for ingredient quality, clinical usefulness, and evidence for effectiveness.

These products are suitable for general support, but they may not be appropriate for everyone.

Do I need to be a client to buy supplements?

No. Anyone can purchase from the store.

However, practitioner-only products require a consultation to ensure they are used safely and correctly.

How do I know which supplements are right for me?

Each product includes general guidance, but this does not replace personalised advice.

If you have ongoing symptoms, take medications, or have a complex health history, booking a consultation is recommended before starting anything new.

Do you check for medication and supplement interactions during a consultation?

Yes. Reviewing medications, supplements, and medical history for interactions is a standard part of my clinical process.

Safety and suitability are always considered before recommendations are made.

Can I request personalised supplement advice without a consultation?

Giving supplement advice without reviewing your health history, medications, and any relevant test results would not be responsible clinical practice.
To make sure recommendations are safe and appropriate, personalised advice is only provided within a consultation.

If you only need a short review of supplements or interactions, an acute consultation is usually suitable.

Do you ship supplements?

Yes. Shipping options, timeframes, and costs are shown at checkout.

Local pick-up is also available in Suffolk Park, NSW.
